Why study at Telford?

Telford Rural Polytechnic is New Zealand’s only specialist rural polytechnic that can provide you with a sound balance of knowledge and skills with a rural focus, to apply to career  opportunities in the rural sector, or onto further study.

Telford is situated on 800 hectares of rolling, South Otago farmland with sheep and beef, dairy, deer and equine units plus apiculture and forestry blocks. Mechanics, carpentry and welding workshops are within two minutes walk of Telford’s halls of residence.

Modern farming requires a blend of practical on-farm skills with up-to-date knowledge of farm management and industry practices. Telford’s 37 week programme is designed to give you the skills to be a modern progressive farmer.

Telford offers small classes with a ‘HANDS ON’ training emphasis. Regular course review ensures that we are providing the most appropriate programmes.
