Welcome to Telford Rural Polytechnic - Halls Of Residence

We take pride in providing our live in Students with living areas that are clean, warm and comfortable. Students reside in either single or twin bedrooms, and all bedrooms, lounge rooms and hallways are carpeted for warmth and quiet.

Meals

Our students put a lot of energy into their studies, particularly the practical outdoor work that is so much part of our courses, and they need hearty nourishing meals to sustain them. Meals are supplied in our modern dining room, and we cater for any special dietary needs for vegetarian, ethnic, religious or health reasons.

Services
Telford Rural Polytechnic draws students from throughout New Zealand and overseas. We recognise the need to create for our students a home away from home, by providing a Halls of Residence on our campus. Our spacious landscaped grounds give a pleasant environment for study, work and living. Workshops, classrooms and teaching facilities are within easy walking distance from the Halls of Residence.

Transport
Dunedin Airport is 45 minutes by road. We offer a free pick-up service to and from this airport, and the bus terminal in Balclutha, at the beginning and end of each term. This service is limited to the days designated for travel. Students who have a drivers licence may bring their own vehicle, which must have current registration, insurance and warrant of fitness.

Telford Students' Association
The Telford Students' Association comprises the student body and an executive committee, which is elected each year and serves as a student support body. It organizes social functions and sporting trips, and has a representative on the Telford Rural Polytechnic Council, (the Polytechnic's governing body) and the Academic Board. Regulations to ensure the smooth running of the Halls of Residence have been set in consultation with the Students' Association.  Over the years students have found that living in our Halls of Residence has allowed them to make contact with people from different places, and many lifelong friendships have been made.
