There are many scholarships available for study at Telford.
The Telford Farm Clutha District FULL FEES Scholarship

This scholarship is being offered to future school leavers from the Clutha District who enrol in full-time on-campus courses at Telford.
This scholarship is also available to students who have attended high school outside the Clutha District during 2005 or 2006, but whose parents have been Clutha District ratepayers for at least 1 year prior to enrolling at Telford. Mature rate paying students from the Clutha District are also eligible for this scholarship.
The scholarship is available to those students who:
- Completed Secondary Education within the last 2 years
and either
- Attended The Catlins Area School, Blue Mountain College, Lawrence Area School, Tokomairiro High School, South Otago High School
or
- Attended secondary school elsewhere so long as their parents live within the Clutha District for rate paying purposes
and to
- Mature students who are residents in Clutha District and have been for the preceding full calendar year
The scheme applies to those enrolling on the following courses:
- Telford Certificate in Agriculture
- Telford Certificate in Equine
- Telford Certificate in Forestry
- Telford Certificate in Apiculture
- Diploma in Rural Business
Students who do not complete the first 10% of the programme will forfeit the right to the scheme and will be required to pay any outstanding fees, and associated costs.
APPLICATION
All eligible students who can show eligibility are automatically covered by the scheme.
FUNDING PROCESS
Telford Farm is the provider of these scholarships.
COVERAGE
The Scheme covers the tuition and course related fees. It does not cover charges related to the hostel, recreation fund, student association fund and individual costs such as clothing, books and for those doing the Equine programme the lease of the horse and associated costs.
Recipient students may apply for other scholarships to assist with hostel and other charges

The Salvation Army owns and manages a substantial holding in the Kaiwera District, near Gore, that was bequeathed by the late Mr Jeff. Applications will be considered from all young people who wish to study at Telford Rural Polytechnic. Priority will be given to those students who need assistance because of their financial situation, living
circumstances or state of health. The awards include study fees, meals and accommodation, funded to a maximum of 80% of total costs.

Applicants must nominate three referees who will outline their view on the personal and academic situations of the applicant. These references will be on the prescribed form available from the address below. Please forward a Referee’s Report form to each of your
nominated referees. The completed forms are to be returned to Pam Carvell, Jeff Farm Scholarship Co-ordinator, The Salvation Army, PO Box 934, Dunedin.

Telford Gowrie Trust

For Certificate Year or Diploma Year
One scholarship to the value of $1,000 is available to a student from the South Island who is enrolled full time in the Telford Certificate in Agriculture course.
The scholarship is paid in two parts: $500 upon confirmed enrolment, and $500 on satisfactory
completion of the one-year course.

Healthy Soils

For Certificate Year or Diploma Year
One scholarship of $1,000 is available to a student from the North or South Island who is enrolled on the Telford Certificate in Agriculture, and intending to carry on to do a Telford Diploma.
This scholarship is paid in two parts: $500 upon confirmed enrolment, and $500 on satisfactory completion of the one-year course.
Application forms available from Telford, interviews in November.
Telford Rural Polytechnic – STAR Bursary

This bursary to the value of $500, is available to a student intending studying towards a Telford Certificate. Applicants must have been enrolled as a Telford STAR student or STAR e-Learning student, while attending high school.
Applications should be made at the time of enrolment.
Telford Rural Polytechnic – Equine Lease Fee Bursary
This bursary is available to a Certificate in Equine student who leases a horse from Telford during their year of study.
This bursary is worth $600 and covers the cost of the lease fee. The student will have their lease fee reimbursed once
10% of the course has been completed.
Applications should be made at the time of enrolment.
Telford Rural Polytechnic - Horse Transportation Bursary
This bursary to the value of $500 is available to a Certificate in Equine student who wishes to bring their own horse. This bursary is a contribution towards the transportation costs incurred as a result of bringing a horse to campus. The recipient of this bursary will receive $500 once 10% of the course has been completed.
Applications should be made at the time of enrolment.
New Zealand Pony Club Association
This is a scholarship to assist with fees for any New Zealand Pony Club Association Member (NZPCA), wishing to complete a year’s study at Telford.
One scholarship is available to the value of $1,500 each. Riders must have passed NZPCA C-C+ Certificate.

One $1,000 bursary awarded to graduating students who wish to continue their education.

Rotary of Dunedin

Rotary are long time supporters of Telford, and generously give $6,000 of scholarships (3 x $2,000), awarded to graduating students who wish to continue their education, either Telford Diploma or elsewhere.
